Lemon Butter Pound Cake Bars1 cup butter 2 cups granulated sugar 4 eggs 2 cups self-rising flour 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice 2 tablespoons grated lemon peel Lemon Glaze (recipe follows) Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease bottom of a 13 x 9-inch pan. In large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat; remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients except glaze in order listed, mixing well after each addition. Spread batter in prepared pan. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until top is golden brown. Cool 10 minutes; drizzle with Lemon Glaze. Makes 48 bars. Lemon Glaze Combine 1 cup confectioners' sugar and 2 tablespoons lemon juice; stir until smooth.
