Elephant Ears

1 envelope yeast
1/3 cup warm water
1 cup butter
2 cups flour
Granulated sugar
Colored sugar

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand.

Mix butter and flour. Add yeast. Blend well; put in refrigerator to cool. Sprinkle sugar on wax paper. Take small amount of dough and pat with fingers, then pat in sugar to coat both sides; pat thin. Place on cookie sheet. Colored sugar may be sprinkled on to add some color. These burn easily, so watch carefully during baking. Bake at 350 degrees F for 7 to 10 minutes.
