Spicy Beef PitasSource: Better Homes and Gardens Online 1 pound thinly sliced cooked beef 1/2 cup picante sauce 1/3 cup red wine vinegar 1/4 cup olive oil or cooking oil 1 tablespoon snipped fresh cilantro or parsley 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder 1/8 teaspoon cracked black pepper 4 large pita bread rounds, halved 1 medium tomato, chopped 1 medium avocado, sliced 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese Place sliced beef in a plastic bag set inside a bowl. For marinade, in a medium bowl combine the picante sauce, vinegar, oil, cilantro, garlic powder, and pepper. Pour marinade over beef. Seal bag; marinate in the refrigerator for 4 to 24 hours, turning bag occasionally. When ready to serve, drain and discard marinade. Divide beef among pita bread halves. Add tomato, avocado, and feta cheese. Makes 8 servings.
